Atelier Pang in Portugal
The atelier Pang in Portugal it was developed with the youngsters students from the 10 and 11th years of the Sociocultural Animation course of the Professional School Bento de Jesus Caraça, on the facilities of the StartUp Barreiro and the School itself. It as also counted with the collaboration of the Municipality of Barreiro, Cultural Association Madrasta Dance, the House of Social Rights - Fernando Pessa Auditorium from Lisbon, the ArteViva Theater Company from Barreiro and the Barreirense Cultural Coorporation.
One of the main idea of this atelier was to lead youngsters into the creative process related to the theme "The end of the world; instructions to fight the doomsday” and build a performance in a co-creation process. The atelier it was lead by the musician, sound artist and filmmaker Luis F. Fernandes and the dancer, actress and choreographer Clara Marchana from Madrasta Dance, with the help of the project management of Luis Rodrigues, head master from the Glocalmusic.
The atelier happened in two different formats; one was organized every 15 days in the Startup Barreiro space, with the same group of youngsters and the second happened in one week intensive workshop.The objective from this two strategies were to create a strong bound between all members, one thought continuaty and the other followed by intensity.
The first process, had the theme "The Manifest of the Will" and started with the 11th grade class of teenagers at EPBJC - Escola Profissional Bento Jesus Caraça took place between January 2023 and April 2023, with a total of 28 hours.
This process had a methodology based on the languages of movement, dance and theatre, using active methods such as creative writing activities, relaxation and body warm-up, confidence games, improvisation with voice, movement and text, and photovoice and video poetry work.
The narrative was focus on the desire to change, to postpone the inevitable, to make oneself heard in the face of a world that is inert, passive and voiceless... On the trail of an Apocalypse, humanity loses its sense, its contact with life, it becomes desensitized and a group of young people breaks out to express a voice that cries out for change, that cries out to be heard in a world forgotten in the memory of what was once the life of each of these seeds.

The second process happened in one week intensive workshop and was named "The world we live on".
It as started with the 10th grade class of teenagers from the EPBJC - Escola Profissional Bento Jesus Caraça and took place in first week of July, with a total of 25 hours of creative work.
This process had a methodology based on the languages of movement, dance and theater, using active methods such as creative writing activities, relaxation and body warm-up, confidence games, improvisation with voice and themes and experimentation.
Emotions were the theme and the proposal for work and creative exploration navigated through these places in this workshop, and its choice for the facts mentioned above and where several studies in Portugal point to a worsening of psychological problems in adolescents and young people.
